Last Wednesday I had the opportunity to be interviewed live on the radio about the prison ministry! I found out that the station is heard in 125 countries and all over the U.S,A. Link to the show will be posted on the bottom of this update.
I started a new Bible Study at the maximum security side of Baraga Correctional Facility on October 29th. It went okay, it seems as if the men do not have a relationship with Jesus though, but as always please pray that the seed of the Gospel falls on fertile soil! As I was about to leave to go to Marquette Branch Prison for that service the Chaplain of Baraga told me that the new Chaplain for Alger Correctional Facility will be shadowing the Chaplain of Marquette Prison. This may not sound significant to you, but I have been praying about trying to get into Alger Correctional for a few years, in fact I have even applied to be a volunteer there but was denied in the past. As I entered Marquette Branch Prison I was able to meet with both Chaplains and had a very good conversation with the new Chaplain of Alger Correctional. It will take a lot of prayer to get into this prison just as the rest but I know that God did not set that meeting up with the new Chaplain for nothing!
I had the awesome opportunity to teach both at Woodland United Methodist in Michigammie, MI this last Sunday the 1st of November and at a men's group in Bessemer, MI on Monday the 2nd of November. Both services went great and new friendships were established!
This week I will be celebrating my 40th birthday. It also marks the start of my 20th year of both following Jesus and being sober. This testimony of what Jesus has done is awesome! God is so faithful!
Here is the link for the radio show. Disclaimer: Bernie (the show host and a good friend) had me read a inappropriate Bible verse just to get a laugh! The show was done on Wednesday the 21st of October.
