This last Sunday was a great time inside the prison. For those of you who do not know, on the 4th Sunday of every month I have the privilege to teach all but one of the Protestant services at Ojibway Correctional. This is a very special time as I also am able to also able to join in their Sunday morning prayer service. These days I am able to fellowship and pray with the men more then the other days I am in there simply because I am able to spend more time with them.
This last Sunday was no exception. After a awesome morning prayer time, the first service time was at 12:40. We were going through John chapter 9 and the section is about a man who was born blind and that Jesus healed him. Now one of the things that I talked about was how I was really "blind" because of my many sins and could not really "see" until Jesus saved me. This is the same for all of us! Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard." Because of this sin we are truly blind. At the end of the message I asked if there was anyone who wanted to either give their lives to the Lord for the first time or rededicate their lives to Him. 8 men stood up! At the service at 5:20pm ( this is the service I usually do ) I also asked if anyone wanted Jesus and another 6 men stood! So in all 14 men either have their lives to God for the first time or rededicated their lives, what an amazing time. Praise God!
So I have a question for you, reading friend, today are you blind? The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 6:2 " For He says: "In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you." Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." Do you want to truly see? Please repent ( which means to turn from) of your sin and ask Jesus to forgive you.
If you have just accepted Jesus for the first time or rededicated your life to Him, would you let me know?
Thank you for all your support and may God bless you!
